Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most common questions our support staff receive.

How long does it take to set up an account?
Accounts are setup instantly as soon as your payment has been cleared.
VPS accounts are also setup automatically. Business accounts are setup instantly however the SSL certificate can take a couple of days for approval. But this won't stop you from setting up your new website while you wait.
I didn't receive my new connection details (Welcome email). What should I do?
As soon as your payment has been cleared by PayPal, your new account is automatically setup. There can be a few reasons why you didn't receive your "New Order - Welcome" email.
  • Your payment hasn't cleared yet.
  • It was sent, but it went into your Junk/Spam folder.
  • The automatic account setup failed due to incorrect information supplied.
If none of these situations apply to you, please submit a support ticket so that we can find a solution.
What is a reseller account?
A reseller account is a modified cPanel account that has additional privileges and access to a limited WHM interface. These privileges allow a reseller to manage subordinate cPanel accounts.
A reseller account is mostly used to sell web hosting packages to your clients. It gives you the ability to become a web hosting provider, under your own brand name.
Generally, resellers allocate resources on a system to cPanel users after purchasing those resources from a hosting provider (JNS Host).
How much do you charge for domain registration?
Domain name prices vary. It depends on the TLD (.com, .net, etc), and it can also depend on the wholesaler that we purchase from. These are outside of our control. You can either purchase from us, or elsewhere and point to us. Click on the Domains link at the footer of this page for the current prices. Or click here.
Can I host international domains?
Yes, we currently have clients that use .ca, .il, .tc, .nu, .ve, and many other international domain names.
Do you offer Windows hosting plans?
No. We only offer Linux web hosting accounts. We do not handle Windows on any machines due to its overall instability and obsessive cost for licensing.
How do I access my Cpanel control panel?
You can login to your Cpanel control panel at http://yoursite.com/cpanel where "yoursite" is your own domain name.
What will my nameservers be?
This would depend on the server that your account has been setup on. This information will be provided in your welcome email after sign up.
You can request to have your own nameservers setup, for example: ns1.yourdomain.com ns2.yourdomain.com
How do I FTP into my account?
First you must obtain an FTP program such as Cute FTP, WS_FTP or Filezilla. Once you have an FTP program, type in "yourdomain.com" as the host address. Supply your username and password in the according fields. Once logged in, you have complete access to your account.
Is there a manual I can reference to use Cpanel?
Yes, access it by clicking here.
Where are my statistics?
Click the report button after logging into Cpanel and hit the Webalizer option. This will open a new window to Webalizer with all your statistics for that domain.
Which folder do I load my web pages to?
You should place all of your web documents in the public_html directory.
I've uploaded my site and still see "placeholder for ..."?
You are still seeing the default index.html page set up when you ordered your hosting plan through us. Make sure to delete that old index.html page, then your site should resolve correctly.
How long does it take for my DNS changes to update world wide?
Normally you can expect to see your web site DNS to change within 24 hours once you have made the modifications at your registrar. However, we have seen it take up to 7 days in some cases where registrars and ISPs are a little slower.
What is VPN
A virtual private network (VPN) extends a private network across a public network, such as the Internet. It enables a computer to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if it is directly connected to the private network, while benefiting from the functionality, security and management policies of the private network. (Currently JNS Host doesn't support VPN)
